VS60

Description
Tube stereo power amplifier.

From the ARC website

The new VS60 clearly proves that you do not need to spend a fortune to enjoy truly great sound at home. Built by hand in Plymouth, Minnesota, to the same exacting standards as our renowned Reference series, the VS60 offers remarkable sound quality and value.

Its rated output of 50 watts per channel does not convey the VS60's ability to drive power-hungry, low-impedance loudspeakers. We designed the VS60 with the finest full-range speakers, not compact monitors. Dynamics are lifelike with a sense of ease normally associated with larger amplifiers. Yes, its resolving power is surprising, allowing you to hear details that were previously hidden in your recordings, but that resolution is in the service of the music — grainless, tonally accurate and refined.

The VS60 has a new JFET input stage for low noise, with 6H30 driver tubes. The Svetlana 6550C output tube is used, the same as our other vacuum tube amplifiers. The front of the chassis has a power switch and LED indicator, while the rear provides single-ended (RCA) inputs, gold-plated brass binding posts with 4 and 8 ohm output taps, 12V triggers for remote turn-on and turn-off, L and R channel access points for a voltmeter, and a high quality, detachable line cord. An optional perforated cage-type top cover, specific to the VS60/VSi60, is available at extra cost.

Build quality is typical Audio Research, utilizing thick traces on heavy, plated-through circuit boards, the finest audiophile-grade parts, proprietary litz internal wires, and it is completely hand-soldered, assembled, tested and packed by craftspeople in our Plymouth facility. No production shortcuts have been taken.

Sonically, the VS60 will surprise you with its clear, dynamic, highly-resolved presentation. It has a wonderful ability to unravel complex musical threads with grainless purity and surprising musical dynamics. Bass impact and control are superior and integrate seamlessly. The VS60 will mate wonderfully with your preamplifier of choice — whether it is an SP17, LS26, a classic SP-6B, or other fine preamplifier — offering a level of performance previously unavailable at this price.

We are very proud of the VS60. Please contact your nearest Audio Research dealer to audition this affordable new vacuum-tube amplifier.
